The second set of drawings are of Elrabin, a member of the Kelth race.
The drawings of Elrabin are as different from Ampris as Terryl could get while still keeping him mammalian. "I wanted to create something not quite as noble or refined as Ampris." Terryl's goal was a strong contrast between the two characters.
Her drawings ranged from coyote to badger-like. Elrabin has matted hair with some locks tied back with cloth. He is unkempt because he's poor and is too busy trying to survive to spend time improving his appearance. Elrabin grew up on the streets in a ghetto trying desperately to avoid being caught by patrollers who would cut off his hands for stealing food. His only possession is a green coat that he inherited from his father. "He's not a bad sort" said Terryl, "you sympathize with him. He's desperate but not bad." |
